Beach magazine, published by Modern Luxury Magazine in the Summer, hosted a Health & Wellness Issue Release Party at Southampton’s new modern Mexican restaurant Union Cantina on Friday, July 8th, 2016. The event was followed by an exclusive screening of the Spike documentary I am JFK Jr. at the Southampton Inn.

Beach magazine, helmed by Editor-in-Chief Cristina Cuomo, follows its readers to the Hamptons in the summer months with engaging profiles about people of influence, fashion, art, design and trends in the Hamptons. In the winter months, the magazine is published as Manhattan magazine in New York City, delivering engaging content to the affluent local and visitor like no other.
Guests mingled at restauranteurs Ian Duke and David Hilty’s new restaurant Union Cantina while tasting delectable hors d’oeuvres from the innovative Mexican kitchen. Union Cantina boasts award-winning Executive Chef Scott Kampf from legendary television show Iron Chef of America, who brings his dedication to the classic “farm to table” cooking style to the new Union Cantina. Some of the new menu specials include the signature Castilla de Res Mole short rib dish and the innovative Deconstructed Enchiladas, which come in five variations.
Bridgehampton, NY (July 13, 2016) – Food Pantry Farm was host to a charming evening on Saturday July 9th; the Farm to Fork Gala at Topping Rose House. The night was generously underwritten by two long time farm supporters allowing the farm to invite and thank their loyal network of contributors, farm partners, representatives from local food pantries and organizations that Food Pantry Farm serves, as well as fellow farmers.
Over 120 guests gathered to learn more about Food Pantry Farm, celebrate the mission to grow and give good food to those in need in the Hamptons community, and enjoy farm-to-table cuisine. Guests included Katie Baldwin and Amanda Merrow of Amber Waves Farm, Madeline Storch-Halsey, Samatha Wellen, and Jesse Wellen of Green Thumb Organic Farm, Helen Cleland of Beach Modern Luxury Magazine, Michael and Amy Cinque, Evelyn Ramunno of Sag Harbor Food Pantry, Chris Kortmann from Edible East End, Nancy Grigor of Hamptons Locations, Michael Griffith, and Paul D’Andrea of the Nature Conservancy.
Dinner was provided by Topping Rose House under the direction of Jean-Georges. The cocktail hour included a special pesto crostini made with garlic scape grown by Food Pantry Farm and available seasonally at Food Pantry Farm’s Farm Stand on Long Lane in East Hampton. After dinner nightcaps featured delicious dream-tini’s by farm supporter Red Thread coffee. Based in Sag Harbor, Red Thread generously donates $0.02 of all their local sales to the farm.
The evening included a silent auction with items provided by; Almond Restaurant, Hampton Classic, Carelle Fine Jewelry, Harbor Kitchen and Market, Amagansett Wine & Spirits, Michelle Farmer Collaborative, Long Island Vine Care, Artis, Grey Slate, Caswell and Massey, Kheil’s and a handcrafted bird house from one of the Farm’s supporters.
Farm Founder John Malafronte, Board President Marjorie Hays, Evelyn Ramunno of Sag Harbor Food Pantry, 2016 farm intern Mitchell Symbesa, and dear friend to the farm, Lynn Shea, all spoke about the mission of Food Pantry Farm, the importance of local farms, the importance of nutrition in everyone’s lives, the struggles the organization faces, the goals the farm has reached, and what the farm hopes to accomplish in the coming years.
In her comments to guests Marjorie Hays noted, “The Farm exists to serve our community and provide fresh organic produce to those who could not otherwise afford it. We rely on the generosity of our farm friends, family and community to continue our mission. We hope you will find our mission worthy and join us in ensuring that good food is not a luxury, but available to everyone.”
