6th Annual IGHL Luncheon & Fashion Fling – Another Sell Out!
Independent Group Home Living, IGHL, providing services for men, women and children who have intellectual disabilities, with 50 group homes on the East End of Long Island in addition to 25 day-programs throughout Suffolk County, hosts dozens of fundraisers annually.
One of the most highly-anticipated events is their annual IGHL Luncheon & Fashion Fling at Westhampton Country Club in Westhampton Beach, N.Y. This year, the sold-out event was Sunday, October 19th from 11.30 AM – 3.30 PM.
“This event is about bringing women together who support IGHL and its mission,’ says Dori Geier, Sr. Director, Human Resources, IGHL, co-founder of the IGHL Luncheon & Fashion Fling with Mary Beth Lichtneger, IGHL’s Chief Financial Officer. “This event recognizes these women as being a vital part of IGHL’s family and in this way we honor them.” “These women are mothers, sisters, cousins, grandmothers and aunts of some of the people we care for; others are valued supporters,” adds Lichtneger. “Together we are strong in fighting for and standing up for those who aren’t able to.”
Willis is the event sponsor for the 6th straight year. The beautiful flowers that adorn each table are provided by 1800FLOWERS. The acclaimed Greg Williams Quartet will be performing throughout the luncheon and fashion show.
IGHL is delighted to be working with Janine Nebons, G.M. Tanger Outlets Riverhead & Worth New York, sponsors of the fashion show this year. Worth New York is providing the outfits and Peggy Palmer, Store Manager for Worth New York, will ‘MC’ the fashion program. “Worth New York is very proud to be a part of the IGHL annual fundraising luncheon by sponsoring the fashion show. We applaud IGHL for its outstanding efforts in improving the quality of life for intellectually-disabled people. We hope this year’s luncheon will be the most successful ever.”
“Working in concert with our retail partner Worth and other Tanger retailers,” adds Nebons, “we are happy to support IGHL’s mission to provide quality programs, services and support for the intellectually-disabled. IGHL’s work on Long Island is essential to serving those individuals that need assistance on many levels. We know the annual Fashion Show is a perfect fit for Tanger Outlets and IGHL and look forward to showcasing great Fall fashion!”
