This Saturday, July 30th, Society-In-Focus will be out in Bridgehampton at the West Kill Farm home of Steven Klein to support the Ellen Hermanson Foundation at their HEAT gala cocktail party. The fundraising event will honor Kim Cattrall, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Hoda Kotb with honorary chairs Donna Karan and Laura Linney. Also scheduled to attend is singer Michael Bolton and the Mistress of Ceremonies will be Rosanna Scotto.
The Ellen Hermanson Foundation helps breast cancer patients and their families cope with the physical and emotional aspects of the disease and also educates the importance of early detection and promotes research on improving understanding of pain management. We’re very happy to be covering this event and hope that we can provide more exposure to this important cause. We’ll let you know how it went in a few days after the pictures have been posted!
This past Saturday, July 23rd, Society-In-Focus attended the Mercedes Benz Polo Challenge After Party, L’Africana Summer Fest in Southampton. The event was hosted by the MacDella Cooper Foundation and the MCF Academy which is the first tuition-free boarding school for orphans and abandoned children in Monrovia, Liberia.
We had a great time photographing the red carpet cocktail party which featured L’Africana dresses and was attended by supermodel Millen Magese, model/TV host Nunu Wako, Miss Ghana USA finalist Ellen Osei, reporter Carol Wilkinson, pop star Zoe Himmel from the G-Pow, and Zelma Davis from C+C Music Factory among others. The event included a presentation on the school’s progress and inspirational videos of the students by Thomas Tafuto, a Taste of Africa home-cooked buffet, and featured dancing and music spun by DJ Stiletto.

Right on the heels of the Unconditional Love Benefit, Society-In-Focus photographed the Hamptons for Haiti benefit with We Advance and Global Dirt presented by Plum Network on July 17th, 2011. The benefit was in the form of a brunch at The Ross School in East Hampton, NY complete with a red carpet cocktail reception which saw the likes of host Maria Bello whose new TV show Prime Suspect starts this fall, Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order:SVU, designer Donna Karan, actress Patricia Arquette, and model Hilary Rhoda, just to name a few.
The event benefited two organizations: We Advance which was co-founded by Maria Bello and focuses on improving the health and safety of women in Haiti and Global DIRT (Disaster Immediate Response Team) which acts as an intermediary between larger organizations, hospitals, military, and the victims.
There were also performances by We Advance co-founder Barbara Guillaume and Wyclef Jean’s sister, Melky Jean. All-in-all it was a successful event and our second Haiti benefit this year! Click here for more photos!
Several dogs and cats were on show from the Southampton Animal Shelter looking for adoption and many guests attending the cocktail party were accompanied by their dogs as well. We met a lot of great people (and animals!) and had a wonderful time shooting the event! Click here for more photos!
A lot has happened here since our last post! After some research and careful thinking, T.H.E. Fitzgerald Photography has decided to start up a sister company focusing on the event photography aspect of our business. We’re proud to introduce our new website Society-In-Focus which just cleanly features photo galleries of all the Hamptons events and celebrities we’ve shot.
Our main company will still be providing all of its current services including wedding photography, portraits, and modeling portfolios, but we’ll be doing business as Society-In-Focus for all the future Hamptons and NYC event shoots. The galleries are open to the public and all the media outlets to view and prints and downloads are easily available for purchase at rates much lower than our bigger competitors. We’re very excited to start this new adventure and hope you’ll come check it out!
